Edith Wharton
  Who is Edith Wharton? If you are thinking about the esteemed author of Ethan Frome, then you are complete wrong! How could you have not heard about the Lit House cat? The true, and only resident of the house? A visit to the house is not complete without seeing Edith Wharton slinking about.

Edith Wharton has been the local cat-in-residence for many years now, and is the only creature to really be able to "say" that she actually lives at the Lit house. She is loved and cared for be all who enter her home, and everyone in the community keeps an eye out for her and feeds her when she needs it. Edith repays her worshippers by carrying about with her favorite past times - sleeping, drinking out of other people's water glasses, and sitting on your lap top right when you are about to get some real work done. Its hard to be made at her, though - she's perhaps the coolest cat out there, or at least on the Washington College campus, anyway!
